Now Rapeseed-Mustard Ranks 1st in India
Of the total area and production under the nine oilseeds crops grown in India, rapeseed-mustard accounts for 30.3% of the acreage and 33.2% of the production (2023-24). With the production of 13.2 million tons during 2023-24, rapeseed-mustard became the first largest oilseed crop in India. the average rapeseed-mustard yield is about 1443 kg/ha compared to the combined oilseeds crops average of 1314 kg/ha (2023-24).
